I Have Found
I have found
a hill so high
an ocean so deep
and a river so wide
I have found a cloudless sky
and all this in the Lord
I have found
old leaves to fall
many waters to drink
and a forest so tall
I have found a perfect stone wall
and all this in my Lord
I have found
a field so green
a wind so warm
and plenty a stream
and I will find my dearest dream
fulfilled only in the Lord

Kingdoms
How do I get home
up above the air
Maybe an angel
is enough to get me there
It's such a long way
and we're way off
We're gonna lie some
to make ourselves look strong
How do I get back
to where I am from
Over the sea there
that's where I belong
Been such a long time
since I seen my home
We're gonna try hard
to dream it is gone
Where is my childhood
it's nowhere to be found
Maybe it's up there
or down here in the ground
And where is my heart now
where has it gone
I'll pretend I have one
to prove I am strong
Where is the kingdom
when will it come
Is it in the shadows
or is the light its home
And where is my heart now
is it inside
Right beside the kingdom
where my childhood lies

Oh, Girl
Oh, girl
I can hear the whispering stars
as they're shining down on me, on me, on me
Oh, girl
they tell me where you are
so many unknown towns from me
I'm on bended knee
Maybe you ain't the one for me
Oh, girl
I can see that big 'ol sun
burning down on me, on me, on me
Oh, girl
I know I'm only one
that's been searching long after thee
I'm on bended knee
I guess you ain't the one for me
Oh, girl
I can feel that dark 'ol moon
wrap it's arms around me, around me, around me
Oh, girl
You know I'll be gone soon
and all those years, with me
I'm on bended knee
I know you ain't the one for me
I'm on bended knee
I wish you'd do the same for me

Way Too Long
I've been driving down this road
searching for my soul
Looking up the highs
and hunting through the lows
I've been searching through the desert,
dreams of baby blue
Still looking for my soul
and the lost times with you
These people whom surround me
do you think they may know?
Maybe they have seen him
stroll down a lonesome road
Perhaps they could tell me
where my joy has been
Maybe it was cruisin'
or floatin' in the wind
You think I should ask them?
perhaps they may know
'Cause I been waitin' way too long
just a searchin' for my soul
Maybe I should ask them
perhaps they may know
'Cause I been waitin' way too long...
just a searchin' for my soul

Can't Love You
It's been a long time, friend
since you been carrying my load
I could never carry much
but I know you don't care that much
you'd say that's what friends are for
I can't love you like you do
I can't bleed or bend
It's been a hard road, friend
just me getting to you
so many voices in my head
a schizophrenic, I am mad
but somehow only your voice
seems to make it through
I can't love you like you do
I can't bleed or bend
I've seen a black sky, friend
on many week long days
but your light is strong
enough to kill that long, dark cloud
and you always spare your fuel
to light my way
I can't love you like you do
I can't bleed or bend

Give a Candle
I looked on another day
stared into the mirror to find
a dirty boy with a dirty mind
a thousand prayers to pray
I heard her voice late last May
whispering on heavy wings
yeah, she's the one who'd always sing
But I never heard her say...
give a candle to the poor
ask them to autograph your art
take a picture of their soul
and get a copy of their heart
I looked down a broken road
found rocks and cracks and holes and mud
found empty bones and dried-up blood
within this childhood home
I heard her voice late last spring
floating on the gentle breeze
I can sometimes hear her breathe
her voice still softer when she sings...
give a candle to the poor
ask them to autograph your art
take a picture of their soul
and get a copy of their heart
I looked on another day
stared into the mirror to find
a dirty boy with a dirty mind
a thousand prayers to pray

Thief of the Night
Father, paint me black
maybe then I’ll understand
Father, make me like You
with a shot of melanin
Father, blind my eyes
to the colors of this world
Father, let me see
the blindness of Your love
‘cause I’m a thief of the night, horror tone
invisible man living inside these bones
I was thief of the night, horror tone
bleed my skin
‘cause I’m a thief of the night, horror tone
invisible man living inside these bones
said I was thief of the night, horror tone
I gotta bleed my skin
said I was thief of the night, horror tone
invisible man living inside these bones
I was thief of the night, horror tone
I gotta bleed my skin
Father, paint me black
‘cause I’m a thief

This Must Be Goodbye
This must be the end
She spoke through the stars
I’ll see ya on the moon
Of that yesterday
Now the oceans have waved
And the tides, they have come
I’ll see ya on the moon
Of that yesterday
I’ll see ya on the moon
Of that yesterday
Some flowers keep growin’
While others just die
I’ll see ya on the moon
Of that yesterday
Oh, we couldn’t keep it goin’
This must be goodbye
I’ll see ya on the moon
Of that yesterday
Now that tomorrow has come
This must be the end
She said through the sun
I’ll see ya on the moon
Of that yesterday
Greet the new morning
For the evening has gone
I’ll see ya on the moon
Of that yesterday
I’ll see ya on the moon
Of that yesterday
This must be the end
She cried through the rain
I’ll see ya on the moon
Of that yesterday
Get a glass for those tears
‘til we meet again
I’ll see ya on the moon
Of that yesterday
I’ll see ya on the moon
Of that yesterday
